In the world of pipelines, HCA stands for High Consequence Area. These are pretty important concepts; so important, actually, that New Century Software has created two applications that help determine HCAs:
- Spill Impact Analyst: Looks for environmental-type HCAs; for example: drinking water and protected lands.
- Gas HCA: Looks for HCAs by population.
